        I love this blog. I have been given an old Bernina 931E and there are marks on the outside - looks like a red tip felt marker and I would love to know how to polish the outside and clean it up. And it looks like the throat plate has a little rust on it. Can you advise. I have unlatch the top and it isn't rusted on the inside and it sews beautifully. I will clean and oil that but I would like to clean the outside. Polish and wax?

          Hi Sharon... thanks!!
          I use Meguiar's cleaner wax. It removes most things and gives the machine a little polish at the same time. Be gentle with multiple applications vs digging in. I finish with Mother's carnauba paste wax. On the plate, use 0000 steel wool.
